FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is your turnaround time?

Our turnaround time is 7-10 working days.

  • How does the free measure & quotation work?

    1. We send one of our sales representatives out to your property and they will run you through the available options.
    2. A quotation is then issued to your email address within 15-60 minutes of the appointment.

The measure and quote is obligation free, meaning that you have absolutely no obligation to accept our quotation. Measure & quotes generally take 20 minutes, but can sometimes take as little as 5 minutes, or as long as an hour, depending on the complexity of your requirements and the amount of questions you have.

  • Are your products custom made?

All of our products are made to fit any opening. We custom make all of our products right here in our factory in Coombabah on the Gold Coast.

  • Are your products Australian made?

Yes, all of the raw materials we purchase are from Australian manufacturers. We manufacture the finished product right here on the Gold Coast.

  • Do you have somewhere I can go and see your products?

Yes, we have a showroom with all of our products on display as full-sized units. Head down to 3/610 Pine Ridge Rd, Coombabah within business hours and feel free to browse through.

  • How long do I have to wait after installation to use my shower?

You will need to wait 24 hours to allow the silicone to cure before being able to use your newly installed shower screen.

  • Why is there a gap between the door and the panels on my semi-frameless or frameless shower screen?

We are required by Australian standards to have a 3-5mm gap between the door and fixed panels to allow the door to fully open and close without potentially clashing on the other panels.

  • How long will installation take?

This greatly depends on the size and type of shower screen you have ordered. Generally, semi-frameless shower screens will take approximately 60 minutes to install. Frameless shower screens will generally need to be completed over two trips, with at least 48 hours in between trips to allow for the silicone to set. One of our production coordinators will call you to schedule the booking and will run you through the installation process once manufacturing has been completed.

  • Do you offer a protective glass treatment?

We are certified professional applicators of Enduroshield; an invisible, non-stick coating that reduces cleaning time by up to 90%. If you choose to add this onto your shower screen order you will receive a 10-year warranty which is registered directly through Enduroshield themselves.

  • What framing options are available?

We offer three framing options for our custom wardrobe doors

    • Fully framed
    • Semi-frameless
    • Slimline

Fully framed is your generic-looking style and comes in at the lowest price. Insert options include vinyl, mirror and glass.

Semi-frameless is roughly $75 per door more expensive than fully framed. This is because of the increased labour time required to assemble them, as well as the polishing required for all edges of the mirror or glass. Insert options for semi-frameless and mirror and glass; vinyl is not an option.

Slimline wardrobe doors are two-thirds the thickness of framed and semi-frameless wardrobe doors. That makes them ideal for an opening where the jambs aren’t overly wide or there is cabinetry protruding into the opening space. These doors are also more expensive than your fully framed option, roughly $30 more per door.

  • What insert options are available?

The most popular inserts for our custom wardrobe doors are mirror, super-white glass, and glacier white vinyl. However, we can print any design onto glass and then frame it as a wardrobe door, so the possibilities are endless. If you are unsure which design is right for you please drop into our showroom and one of our friendly staff will run you through all of the options.

Prices vary depending on the insert, but generally, your cheapest option is vinyl, followed by mirror, followed by a coloured glass option (white or black), followed by a custom printed glass option.

  • Do you offer a triple track solution?

Yes, we do. Triple tracks are great for spaces that require access to more than 50% of the opening. We have triple-track options for all of our wardrobe door styles.  Please keep in mind that triple tracks do increase the overall cost of the wardrobe door set as they are more costly to manufacture.

  • What options do you have available?

We offer three distinctive styles of mirror:

    • Fully frameless
    • Fully framed
    • Micro-framed

Fully frameless mirrors are our most popular product. They look great, are easy to keep clean, and are our cheapest option.

Fully framed mirrors are mirrors that feature a 20mm frame around the perimeter. This frame is available in a variety of colours and adds strength to the mirror.

Micro-framed mirrors feature a slimline 2mm frame that sits alongside the polished edge sides of the mirror. These frames also are available in a variety of colours and also add strength to the mirror.

No option is better than the other and it all comes down to personal style.

  • What shapes of mirror do you offer?

We can custom manufacture frameless mirrors in all shapes and sizes. The most popular shapes are rectangle, square, circle, pill, and arched-shaped mirrors.

Framed or micro-framed mirrors can only be manufactured in rectangular or square shapes. This is because we custom make all of our products to the millimetre and there is no such aluminium or steel extrusion that exists which can be moulded to fit different radius angles which would be required to frame a circle, pill or arched mirror.

  • How do you ensure the mirrors will not rust?

We spray a special mirror edge sealant along the edges of all our mirrors once they have been cut and polished. This innovative product prevents moisture from entering the exposed glass edge which is the most common cause of perimeter delamination. This comes at no extra cost to our customers and is included in the price.

  • Do you sell coloured mirrors?

Yes, we offer bronze, grey, and black-backed mirrors. These mirrors look amazing but are quite a lot more expensive for us to manufacture compared to your standard mirror. Get in contact with our team for a quotation today.

  • What design options do you have available?

We offer a complete range of custom-made toughened glass splashbacks.

The most popular, and cost-effective option, is our painted splashbacks. Simply choose any colour you like and we can make it happen for you. Either specify a colour type from a brand such as Dulux or let us know the RGB code. Painted options are available as standard or metallic.

We also offer coloured mirror splashbacks in bronze, grey, and black. These heat-resistant splashbacks look incredible and open up a kitchen giving the perception of additional size.

Another product we offer is custom-image printed splashbacks. Though quite expensive compared to a painted splashback, these look stunning, and the possibilities are truly endless.

  • What is the installation process?

Installation of glass splashbacks will always take a minimum of two trips. This is because once we have set the splashbacks into their positions we have to wait a minimum of 24 hours for the silicone to cure before being able to return to remove the temporary packers used to safely sit the glass on top of your benchtop. In more complex layouts we make require three or four trips to complete your job because we may have to complete the installation in stages to ensure that the finished product is installed to a high quality, we always deliver at Gold Coast Shower Screens. We will run you through the entire process before commencing work to ensure that we’re all on the same page.
